24.05.2010 Ryanair welcomes the three millionth passenger
Dublin / Bratislava, 24th May 2010: Ryanair, Europes favorite low cost carrier, today had every reason to celebrate at its Bratislava airport: after almost five years of successful operations at the airport, the Irish carrier welcomed passenger number 3.000.000. The lucky passenger is Mrs. Mara Schusterschitz from Vienna, who is travelling with her family. She was surprised in Bratislava after her arrival from a trip to Brussels.
„This is a very nice surprise. We fly Ryanair regularly because it is much cheaper than all the other airlines, especially if you travel with your entire family. We find it convenient to fly from Bratislava as it is not far from Vienna and the choice of destinations from Bratislava is excellent.“
Celebrating this milestone today, Ryanair's Sales & Marketing Executive for Slovakia Alexandra König said: “Ryanair is delighted to celebrate its 3 millionth customer in Bratislava. Since operations commenced in the Slovak capital in 2005 with the Milan route, Ryanair continued to grow and now operates 21 routes to/from Bratislava to top European destinations. The route to Brussels (Charleroi) was only introduced last summer and we are happy to see how well it is establishing. And there is more to come as the new routes to Alghero and Malaga are yet to start operating this June. This strong growth shows that Ryanair is successful even in times of crisis and that the lowest fares always win.”
To celebrate this event Ryanair released tickets for five Euro, one way, including taxes and charges. These are bookable at www.ryanair.com until this Thursday, 27th May 2010, at midnight. Further information to destinations and current offers can be found on the Ryanair website.
Ryanair is the World’s favourite airline with 41 bases and 1100+low fare routes across 26 countries, connecting 155 destinations. Ryanair operates a fleet of 240 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft with firm orders for a further 74 new aircraft (before taking account of planned disposals), which will be delivered over the next 2 years. Ryanair currently has a team of more than 7,000 people and expects to carry approximately 73 million passengers in the current fiscal year.
