During today's general assembly the representatives of shareholders of the company Letisko M. R. Štefánika - Airport Bratislava, a.s. (BTS) have approved the changes in the company's Board of Directors. Based on the proposal of the Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Karol Biermann will replace the retiring Chairman of Board of Directors, Mr. František Stolárik. Mr. František Stolárik, though, further remains to be a member of Board of Directors.
The objective of these changes is mainly to increase the viability of key decisions of shareholders – the Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications of the SR (MTPT) and the National Property Fund of the SR (NPF) – as well as to separate the management of common airport operation from management of growth processes. The retiring Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. František Stolárik accepts the change and adds: "I am wishing to my successor to be able to focus his skills and energy fully on demanding advancement tasks which are ahead of us". After being appointed Mr. Karol Biermann has thanked the representatives of the shareholders – the MTPT and the National Property Fund, for their belief in him and has asked for 100 days in order to be able to analyze the present situation and to prepare the advancement scenario. Mr. Karol Biermann has stressed that he is not avoiding the communication, "but now I consider as a priority to concentrate on the job, which means, first to act and then to talk about it".
Mr. Karol Biermann (46), a graduate engineer, comes from Trenčín. After graduation from high school he graduated in economics at the Faculty of Commerce in Bratislava, specialization in the Foreign Trade Economics. In the past he held, among others, the position of the director of the company Ozeta, in bankruptcy, appointed by the assignee of a bankrupt's estate and the committee of creditor banks till the successful realization of the company. Mr. Biermann possesses a long standing experience with the top management of commercial companies, particularly in the fields of development, editorship and polygraphy.
